I didn't know what to expect from the finale of season six. In general the best episode in a season is actually the penultimate episode. In both seasons four and five the penultimate episode was the stronger episode.
Not this time. Oh, the Battle of the Bastards was quite good... but...

| Bastard Fight! Everybody there's gonna be a bastard fight! |
Maybe it even deserved the hype.
It was a very good episode from my point of view.

Game of Throne "No One" (S6 - E08) [TV Review]

| She runs well for someone who has been gut stabbed. |
It is the first season that we are really beyond the books, but at times we are also stuck back in book 3 and sometimes in book 5. And there are times when the season just seems to go where it wants with little care for what came before...

Game of Throne "Home" (S6 - E02) [TV Review]
Well that was an epic episode. Second episode of the sixth season, and we're at last getting to events that occurred in... what, book three? Yeah... nice to know that was not forgotten.
Oh, yeah, and that big reveal that we all knew was coming...

The Revenant [Movie Review]
I'm really digging seeing movies on the cheap. It lets me see movies that I either missed in the general theaters, was on the fence about seeing, or... something I'm not thinking of at the moment. Anyways, seeing movies on the super cheap has been great.

Spartacus [TV / DVD review]
I was having trouble figuring out what to review tonight, when I finally decided upon a TV show that ran from 2010- 2013 on Starz. I never saw it on TV, and in fact I never saw a single episode until after the final season was over.

Game of Thrones "Mother's Mercy" (Season 5 Finale, Ep. 10) [TV Review]
Another season comes to a close. A sixth will come, this we know.
I'm finding it more and more difficult to begin these reviews.
Each episode is packed with so many events that at times one feel absolutely overwhelmed.
Oh, and before we even get to the 'read more' let me warn you.
This post will be filled with Spoilers.

Jurassic World [Movie Review]
I stand confused, and amused.
This year has so many franchise reboots that, as a film nerd, I am both giddy and apprehensive about.
This will either be a lot of fun, or a lot of sadness.

Game of Thrones "The Dance of Dragons" (Season 5, Ep. 9) [TV Review]
I find myself not exactly sure where to begin.
This was a huge episode, better than Hardhome I think, but not by much. This season is certainly ending well. It is making up for the slow and banal middle I think.

Game of Thrones "Hardhome" (Season 5, Ep. 8) [TV Review]
This is the eighth episode of the fifth season, Hardhome.
This is also the most divergent episode from the source material.
It may also be the best episode of the season so far.

Game of Thrones "Kill the Boy" (Season 5, Ep. 5) [TV Review]
Every week I sit down with friends to watch the latest parade of deaths and poor choices that is the tapestry of Game of Thrones. I have a definite love / hate relationship with the series. There are some excellent excellent things about the series (show and books), and some downright depressingly awful things too... and no, I'm not talking about the parade of deaths. That is actually kind of cool for a book / tv series to be willing to just off and kill characters. I'll give props to GRRM for that.

Game of Thrones "Sons of the Harpy" (Season 5, Ep. 4) [TV Review]
This week on Game of Thrones...
Many things sort of happen, stuff gets discussed, and a few (lots of) people die. So... no change there from the previous week really.

Game of Thrones "High Sparrow" (Season 5, Ep. 3) [TV Review]
Welcome to the third weekly review of Game of Thrones season five. Today's episode was "High Sparrow" introducing Jonathan Pryce to the cast. Next week we'll finally meet the Sand Snakes and maybe spend some more time in Dorn.

Helix "O Brave New World" (Season 2, Ep. 13 - Finale) [TV Review]
What is wrong with Helix? Is it just impossible for them to actually write a season ending that does not depress me? Is this the end for Helix, or will they find a way to wriggle out of the giant hole they wrote themselves into and write themselves a third season?

Helix "The Ascendent" (Season 2, Ep. 12) [TV Review]
There is only one week of Helix left... in this season.
There are still a lot of plot hole to fill in...
A lot.

Bloodborne [PS4]
I've got to learn to not buy into the hype around video games. I almost got sucked into buying The Order 1886, which admittedly I'm still interested in but I'll wait until I can get it for maybe $20. Instead I moved my preorder over to Bloodborne.

There are only two episodes left after tonight episode.
Tonight episode is paradoxically called "Plan B."

Helix "Mother" (Season 2, Ep. 10) [TV Review]
It's been a while since I've done this. But this week I think I'll do an installment of "Grandpa Yells at the TV" or in other words a write as I watch segement. I don't tod these too often, I'm not sure how well they are received, but I'll give it another go. The star rating will be at the bottom this week.

Helix "Ectogenesis" (Season 2, Ep. 9) [TV Review]
Tonight episode was the ninth of the second season. The title was Ectogenesis.
It left me feeling ambivalent. This episode was just hard to get the feel of. Some good, some bad.
And it had an unhealthy obsession with eyeballs.
