Batman: The Killing Joke [Fathom Movie Event]

Let me reiterate that I do not read American comics. No matter how much I love the MCU, no matter how much I enjoy the Arrowverse, no matter that I've seen so many of the cartoons... I do not read American comics (aside from the new Marvel Star Wars comics - cause those are Star Wars).

X-Men Apocalypse [Movie Review]

Ah, summer blockbuster movies. So much fun.
I kinda wish I had watched both First Class and Days of Future Past before seeing this... just so they were fresh in my mind.

Captain America: Civil War [Movie Review]

The poster is missing two supers.
And so it begins.
Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The end of the Avengers, the beginning of something new...

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

A movie whose subtitle should have been the title.
DC does not have a strong track record of super hero movies in my opinion. Now, they are certainly not worse than what ever has happened with the Failtastic Four and recent Spider Man movies. This was better than those... 'movies.'

Ant-Man [Movie Review]

So I went and saw the Marvel movie I had the lowest expectations for since Captain America (I had my doubts, and I never saw it in theaters. Those doubts turned out to be unfounded.). I'm not including The Incredible Hulk in this list, because I did not see the Hulk until recently, and it was just awful... and barely a part of the MCU. It does not have Mark Ruffalo, so it is not really the Hulk to me.

Avengers 2 Age of Ultron [Movie Review]

I've been talking about it in my past few reviews, and here it is at last. It is (was) the First of May, and I'm not talking about The Song, but the day that Avengers 2 Age of Ultron was released in theaters.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 [Movie Review]

There are certain early warning signs with anything. Classic children's cartoon (comic, whatever) and Micheal Bay almost always turn out to be a surefire way to ruin those precious childhood memories of mine.
This was the fear that gripped me as I entered the theater.

Guardians of the Galaxy [Movie Review]

These movies are like some delicious addictive confection.
Every year, a new Marvel movie.
No complaints here.

X-Men: Days of Future Past [Movie Review]

Two weeks with movies, in a row? Yes! It has been a while since two movies I've wanted to see have come out back to back.
This time I went to see X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier [Movie Review]

Ah, yet another Marvel universe movie. I love these - it's a guilty pleasure. But they make such a fun universe... and I say this as a person who does not read American comics. It's the one nerdy thing I really don't do. I've tried.

Ironman 3 [BD Movie Review]

I was really bad about seeing certain movies in the theaters last year. Movies I wanted to see, but just did not make it. I'm hoping that I'll not be as lackadaisical this year, but only time will tell. I also have a standing policy of waiting for deals before buying BDs.

The Wolverine (2013 Extended Cut) [Movie Review]

So here is yet another movie I did not catch in theaters. Instead I watched the BD extended edition. Sure it had the 3D disc included, but I'm not a fan of 3D in movies at all... in fact in a few cases it's given me a headache. So, best to avoid. I just watched the nice normal HD extended cut on a big flat screen.

Thor: The Dark World [Movie Review]

This was originally supposed to go up on Weds, then again on Friday. But I've been busy - it is the bloody holidays after all. Happy Festivus! Superb Saturnalia! Or whatever...

So this movie has been out a while, it just took me a long time to get to the theater to see it. I told a friend who lives way out of town that I'd go see it with him. I waited to see it with him, and finally we went.
