Helix "Densho" (Season 2, Ep. 4) [TV Review]

So, well... um... this Helix review is really late. Sorry, I spent the weekend at the movies (Here and Here).
However late it is, I am reviewing episode four of season two.

I knew she was an ax murderer!
This episode has an awesome title.
Why?
It's in Japanese and therefore, my guess is that a lot of people have no idea what it means. *Grin.*

3 out of 5 stars
I know what the title means.
Oh yeah, you might not even know what the episode title was.
This is simply a date. 15th of August, 2015.
The episode is called Densho.
Densho is the Japanese word for expressing the idea of leaving a legacy, essentially 'to pass to the next generation.' Not to be confused with Densha, or 'train' (the type that moves along tracks).

She did a stupid stupid thing. A very stupid thing.
This is all about Hatake and Julia. There are a few other legacies in the episode, but the most important one is that of Hatake and Julia. Heck, she gets a katana out of the whole deal.

But damn the writers.

Damn them.

Hatake!

Balleseros, he seems to be reprising his role as jackass.
Now there were some really fun scenes. The whole Andy Griffith bit.. that was excellent. I've not laughed that hard in an episode of Helix, maybe ever.

However, they also used Flight of the Bumblebee early in the episode when 'Texas' (no, seriously, I cannot remember his name) is collecting samples from some bees. This was too predictable, unlike last season when the music choices were bonkers and made no sense... this was too closely related to the scene.

SPOILERS BELOW! (More than the nibbles above).

Is Hatake really dead? He is an immortal. Do they die from being bludgeoned in the stomach by a wood ax? I'm seriously wondering, because come on. The chances of that ax being sharp enough to actually kill him there... are remote at best. Yes, he's bleeding. I found that silly. Wood axes are not sharpest tool in the shed, they dull rapidly if they are actually used for chopping wood... which we've seen that one do. And with half an ax handle, you really won't get as much swing force.

And boy does Sarah do something stupid. Yes, I know I have viewer-vision, but wow was that stupid.
So, yeah she's bleeding out on the floor of some cultists building. Will she lose the immortal fetus? Do we care? (No.) Will she recover? And if she recovers, will Hatake?

Can Alan have more than one moment of insight per episode? At least this time he was not written like a giant trope machine. He was insightful, and caught on to his brother. Good. Oh, and Balleseros is back... and it looks like he may be as big an asshat as he was last season.

Fridays Helix will be late as well... I'm planning on seeing yet another movie.
